The Artist Journey
Natso initially studied architecture in college and then photography. She began painting in 2009 and continued her art education through independent studies. She studied abstract and mixed media techniques with a variety of artists and teachers; learning from acclaimed award-winning artist Betsy Dillard Stroud and the accomplished multidisciplinary artist Lisa L. Cyr, among others.
Natso pursued her studies and found her artistic voice under the guidance of Geneviève Simard from the Griffintown Art School in Montreal. She also got the opportunity to learn alongside the colorist painter Mireille Vézina. She continues to grow by taking workshops and classes regularly.
Her work is mostly created using acrylic paints, in addition to mixed media techniques incorporating metal pieces, fine papers and other elements. Natso’s style is an abstract/semi-figurative blend. Since her inspiration comes from her inner world and her emotions, her subject matters are wide-ranging. Nevertheless, they often revolve around flowers, personas, cityscapes and abstract representations. Bold colors, textures and unique brushstrokes are at the center of her work. All of her paintings are made on gallery-wrapped canvases and their sides are carefully painted in harmony with their color scheme.
